The VPN Built for Censored Countries
Most VPNs are built for privacy. NexTunnel is built for censorship. We use obfuscation protocols designed specifically to defeat deep packet inspection (DPI), the technology governments use to detect and block VPN traffic.
How Internet Censorship Works
Government censorship systems analyze internet traffic in real time using Deep Packet Inspection (DPI). These systems can identify VPN protocols by their signature patterns — the way data packets are structured and timed. Once identified, the traffic is blocked at the ISP level before it ever reaches its destination. Standard VPN protocols like OpenVPN, WireGuard, and even some obfuscated protocols have become reliably detectable in countries like Russia, Iran, and China.
Countries Where NexTunnel Works
Russia
Roskomnadzor (RKN) maintains a national blocklist and operates DPI infrastructure across all major ISPs. NexTunnel's VLESS+Reality is undetectable by RKN's current systems.
Iran
Iran's filtering system (FAVA) applies multi-layer filtering including DPI, SNI inspection, and IP blocking. NexTunnel survived multiple major filtering waves in 2023-2025.
China
The Great Firewall uses some of the world's most sophisticated DPI. NexTunnel's CDN mode and Reality protocol provide the best available bypass for Chinese users.
Turkey
Turkey periodically blocks social media and VPNs during political events. NexTunnel's Hysteria2 protocol bypasses temporary blocks quickly.
UAE
The UAE blocks VoIP and certain communication services. NexTunnel provides access to blocked communications while complying with local usage guidelines.
And more
NexTunnel works in any country with internet restrictions — Turkmenistan, Belarus, Cuba, Venezuela, and others. If a standard VPN doesn't work, NexTunnel likely will.
Protocols That Defeat Censorship
VLESS + Reality
The most advanced anti-censorship protocol available. Reality uses TLS 1.3 certificate borrowing — your traffic appears as a connection to a legitimate website (e.g., a CDN or financial service). DPI systems cannot distinguish it from genuine HTTPS without blocking all HTTPS traffic.
Hysteria2
A high-performance protocol running over UDP/QUIC. Since most censorship targets TCP connections, Hysteria2 bypasses many filters entirely. It also resists throttling, maintaining high speeds even under traffic shaping.
CDN WebSocket Mode
For regions with the most aggressive censorship, NexTunnel can route traffic through content delivery networks via WebSocket. This is the same infrastructure that powers millions of legitimate websites — blocking it would break the internet itself.
Restricted Link Mode
Uses alternate ports and SNI values to avoid port-based blocking. Useful in networks where specific port ranges are blocked at the firewall level.

Server Network
Why NexTunnel Stays Ahead of Censors
- ✓Reality protocol is the current state-of-the-art for DPI evasion — no known blocking method works without collateral damage
- ✓Hysteria2 uses QUIC/UDP — a protocol censors cannot block without breaking video streaming for everyone
- ✓4-server network with automatic failover — if one server is targeted, traffic reroutes instantly
- ✓CDN mode as last resort — routes through the same infrastructure as major websites
- ✓No registration with local telecom authorities in restricted countries
- ✓Crypto payments preserve full anonymity — no payment trail
- ✓Regular protocol updates as censorship techniques evolve
Common Questions
Why can't censors just block NexTunnel?
VLESS+Reality makes VPN traffic indistinguishable from normal HTTPS to a website like a bank or CDN. To block it, censors would need to block all HTTPS traffic — which would break the entire internet. Hysteria2 runs over QUIC/UDP, which is used by Google, YouTube, and most modern websites. Blocking it causes too much collateral damage.
What happens if one protocol gets blocked?
NexTunnel automatically tries alternative protocols and servers. The app detects connectivity issues and switches without requiring manual intervention. We also issue updates when new blocking methods are detected.
Is it legal to use a VPN to bypass censorship?
Laws vary by country. In most restricted countries, using a VPN for personal internet access is not a criminal offense for individuals. We recommend reviewing your local laws. NexTunnel does not operate in jurisdictions where individual VPN use is criminalized.
Does censorship bypass work on mobile?
Yes. NexTunnel is available on iOS and Android. The mobile apps use the same VLESS+Reality and Hysteria2 protocols as the desktop apps.
